Higher Education Department starts A Healthy Diet for Life!

On July 24, 2017, the Higher Education Department of Pilar College celebrated Nutrition Month with the theme “Healthy Diet, Gawing Habit – For Life!” A seminar was prepared by the CSG Officers at the Mother Ignacia Gymnasium from 9:00am until 12:00 noon. This activity aimed to raise awareness to choose the consumption of healthy over unhealthy food.

The program traditionally started with a Doxology followed by the singing of the Philippine National anthem and Zamboanga Hermosa. Opening remarks was given by the CSG President, Kristina Lynn Academia. To cheer up the students, an ice breaker was given by the CSG Officers.



Then, the speaker for the event was introduced. Stephanie Rose Vargas, a registered Nurse and a licensed Teacher, urged the students not only to pick healthy food but to also live a healthy lifestyle.


After her talk, she was given a token of appreciation by the CSG Moderator and Student Affairs Coordinator, Mr. Virginio Pangilinan, and was assisted by the CSG President. An intermission number was given by the Campus Vibez after. To formally end the program, the CSG Vice-President, Rehan Jailani, delivered her closing remarks. The masters of ceremony were CSG Treasurer and CSG PIO which were Jeanette Tani and Annette Athena Madrazo.
This was the first event prepared by the Higher Education CSG Officers. This was also commemorated to be in one with the National Nutrition Council’s annual celebration of Nutrition Month.
