PCZC LIS Teachers to join the NCCA-NCLIS-UP SLIS Capacity Building Program

Mrs. Josefina  B. Malindog ,  Program Dean of the  Bachelor of  Library  and Information Science (BLIS)   and Mrs  Zosie Lhou Candido  – a LIS  instructor  will participate in the NCCA-NCLIS-UP SLIS Capacity Building Program for LIS Teachers. The program will run from November to December 2020.

The program aims to capacitate and re-tool LIS teachers both in terms of content and pedagogy for the new LIS courses specified in CHED Memo 24 s2015 (Revised Policies, Standards and Guidelines for the Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLIS) Program) with focus on flexible learning as the new normal. It aims to enable the LIS teachers to prepare course packs for the following courses: (1) Introduction to Records Management and Archives, (2) Conservation and Preservation of Information Services, (3) Reference Services 2, (4) Indigenous Knowledge and Multiculturalism, (5) Programming Fundamentals, (6) Systems Analysis and Design, (7) Database Design, and (8) Digital Libraries. LIS teachers will contribute to the course packs in terms of expansion / improvement of the course outline, possible class activities, and possible assessment modes down to quiz / exam questions (and answers).

It will be a combination of lectures and workshops conducted over Moodle, an online learning management system. It will also consist of both synchronous and asynchronous modes of learning where the participants can work on their outputs offline and then discuss these in online modes of communication such as chat, online meetings, calls, etc
